Reflections Program

The Reflections Program is a National PTA and WSPTA cultural arts competition. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works.

Reflections is so much more than "just an art contest."  It helps kids take risks, be inspired, think creatively, receive positive recognition, and be celebrated for their works of art.  It also allows our community to celebrate creativity in our students! Studies have shown there is a relationship between the arts and health and well-being across one’s lifespan.

The TMS PTSA's support of the Reflections Program helps encourage TMS artists and it supports their artistic growth.

Reflections 2025-2026

Students create their work of art and write a short artist statement based on the theme "I Belong"; judging is based on both the artwork and the artist statement.

Students submit their completed works of art in one, or all, of the available arts categories. Students can submit multiple pieces, but only piece per category (i.e. a poem and a picture but not two poems or two pictures).

The top entries from the 6 categories (up to 20 pieces) move on to have their art celebrated at a Northshore Council PTA district showcase event. After that, they could move on to the Washington State competition level and if selected, they can advance all the way to the national competition.

To get started, fill out the TMS Student Entry Form

Online submissions are due at TMS: November 7th 2025.

Physical artwork will be collected at TMS: November 21st 2025.
